We put some light on top of the Harculo Power Plant, to address the local community and express our respect with a large light show every night. It starts at 4 PM, when it turns dark in Holland (during winter time) and it lasts until 11 PM.

The 120 meter high chimney is lit with a huge laser light show that animates the Compliments of the Season greeting. Furthermore the sky is lit using enormous lights that seem to seek for aliens... very-very bright light-beams indeed!

Happy to work for a company like Electrabel !

One of the two active webcams has been moved from my apartment in Zoetermeer to the apartment in Zwolle. 

So as of today you can overlook the "Nieuwe Markt" square in Zwolle via the webcam. The image is not crystal clear, but that is intentionally.  We do not want people to be able to recognise the people walking in the area...!

Royal Dutch Shell plc uses less than 30% of its land based capacity in Nigeria due to lack of funding and the security situation in the by rebel terrorized Niger Delta region.
 
The company missed $47 billion of revenue since 2006 according to Mutiu Sunmonu, director of Shell Petroleum Developtment Company of Nigeria, during a hearing at the Nigerian Senate about reforming the Nigerian gas- and oil-industry.

Webcam

Time for a brief update. You can find on this website as of today a live webcam that overlooks the North-East of Zoetermeer as seen from my appartment in Zoetermeer.  You can see the top of the CBR building with the Europa road and the junction towards the Noord-A.

Click on the menu item "Live webcam stream" to open the live footage. All you need is a fast internet connection (ISDN or faster) and FLASH should be installed on your computer also. 

Calling from and to Nigeria and the rest of the world at low rates

Ik kreeg een nieuwe dienst door voor het goedkoop bellen naar Nigeria vanuit Nederland. En dat werkt top. Ik bel nu voor 7 eurocent per minuut naar een mobiel nummer in Nigeria en zonder problemen.
Er worden voor alle mensen die je vaak belt speciale nummers aangemaakt in Amsterdam waar je op kan inbellen. Ik bel dat nummer vanuit mijn mobiele telefoon of vaste lijn en wordt direct doorverbonden. Perfect!

New webcams under review

Two webcams are online since last night after a long period of searching and testing. One is pointing towards the Woonhart shopping centre in Zoetermeer, the other is pointing towards the CBR building in Zoetermeer also.

The old webcam will be replaced after one or two days of additional testing.

Another advantage of the new webcames is the refresh rate. These images are refreshed every 10 seconds, instead of the old 60 seconds per frame.
